LAURYN HILL THANKS ALICIA KEYS, STEVIE WONDER FOR WRITING LETTERS TO JUDGE

Earlier this week, Lauryn Hill was sentenced to three months behind bars for tax evasion. In the aftermath of her trial, the Grammy-winning icon took to her blog to thank her supporters including Alicia Keys and Stevie Wonder, who wrote letters to the judge on her behalf.

In a message posted on Tumblr, the Fugees frontwoman expressed her gratitude. “I want to extend a sincere thank you to the following people, who wrote letters to the judge on my behalf,” she said, while listing the names of 29 people from all over the world.


She also thanked those who wished her well during the ordeal. “I also want to thank all of my family, friends, business associates, and fans who have called, emailed, sent texts, and posted messages of concern, encouragement, and support,” said the 37-year-old singer, who has until July 8 to report to prison. “I appreciate the well wishes, and I thank you for your prayers.”

Over the weekend, she released a new song called “Neurotic Society” as part of her deal with Sony, and will be putting out more music in the coming months.
